friends?

the last thing i need now is for another friend to disappoint me.
i had one i thought was my friend, but nope.
no friend leaves you in the lurch when you are in trouble.

i had another one i thought was my friend, but nope.
because she knew the last thing i wanted was not another disappointment,
but she still left me alone.
i'm not saying she couldn't. but why tell me A then do B?

when will i ever learn that not everyone wants to be my friend?
some just want in, to know.
others want in, to care.

the word 'friends'.......................ever so scary.
at least i know who will stick with me through thick and thin.
